Mission: To assist students, who have been placed in the in-school suspension program (ISS), improve

their class behavior, work study skills, and positive self-image.

Working schedule:


45 min lunch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • When there are no students in ISS, a 30 minute lunch will be taken and 4:15 will be the departure time.
  • If there are no students in ISS, Mr. Voncannon will perform duties around the building as needed.
  • Maintains disciplinary environment in the In-School Suspension Program.
  • Ensure communication with teachers and staff regarding referral process through administration. Emphasizing the referrals to ISS are only assigned through and by administrators.
  • Keeps records (data base) and completes necessary reports for the program on a timely basis.
  • Confers with students individually and/or in groups to modify unacceptable behavior and emphasize positive skills.
  • Provides instructional assistance and encouragement for students to complete their assignments.
  • Provides assistance to teachers with sports duty assignments. 
  • Consults with teachers daily regarding student assignments.
  • Attends and participates in staff development and training sessions.
  • Clarifies the purpose, goals and policies of the In-School Suspension Program for teachers, parents and volunteers.
